Professional Consultative Services
Many times a person with special needs will need a home designed and built specifically to meet these needs. Frangeli Consulting & Remodeling, Inc. specializes in providing consultative services to architects, builders, insurance companies & trustees of special needs trusts to create & assist in implementing adaptable solutions into their client's home. These solutions are geared to improve independence & ease the challenges posed to our clients as well as their family.
We can be involved in a variety of capacities, from the initiation of the project to it's completion in order to ensure that the home is adapted to our client and family's needs.
Our scope of services include the following:
- Initial comprehensive and confidential assessment of our client's and care giver's physical and functional needs. This entails:
- Interviewing the family to discuss the care giver's & client's particular issues.
- Performing background research into the client's physical and functional abilities by speaking with any and all involved health care professionals including M.D., surgeons, P.T., O.T., and speech therapy. This research ensures that the most complete solution package is created, not just for today but for the future as well.
- Creating a detailed punch list of all the issues pertaining to our client's activities of daily living
- Creating a proposed floor plan, kitchen/bathroom layouts etc which are computer-generated that are easy to read and understand. This then culminates into a comprehensive report that will specify the proposed remodeling projects and assistive technology that will be required to make the home accessible. This would include but is not limited to wheelchair accessible bathrooms & kitchens, creating of additional living space, ramping systems, stairlifts, ceiling and platform lifts, residential elevators, as well as smart home technology.
- Assessing the existing property for the feasibility of adaptable remodeling for accessibility. Sometimes purchasing a new property is a more cost effective alternative than to modify the existing property. We would then provide council to the family and/or to their associated trustees of supplemental or special needs trusts in selecting housing that can or will meet the needs of the client.
- If the project is located inside Nassau or Suffolk counties in N.Y., our Remodeling Division can affectively install any of the suggested remodeling projects or assistive technology.
- If the project falls outside of Nassau or Suffolk counties in N.Y., we are able to be present on site as needed to oversee the completion of the project to ensure that all outlined modifications are met and to make adjustments if required.
